Safety and compliance

OSHA and Largo portable restroom requirements

OSHA requires employers to provide employees with sanitary and readily accessible toilet facilities. The right setup depends on workforce size, work duration, site layout, and access to permanent facilities.

A common OSHA planning reference is one toilet facility for 20 or fewer workers, with additional facilities as the workforce grows. Confirm the current rule and site-specific interpretation with OSHA or a qualified safety professional.

Place facilities where workers can reach them safely and conveniently. Avoid placing units across active traffic lanes, excavation hazards, or inaccessible slopes, and keep access clear throughout the project.

Florida and local requirements may also apply to construction permits, temporary events, wastewater handling, accessibility, and environmental protection. Largo property owners and event organizers should confirm requirements with the City of Largo, Pinellas County, and the applicable permitting authority.

This information is general education, not legal advice. We can help plan equipment and placement, but your employer, venue, contractor, or permitting professional remains responsible for compliance.
